Assistance with daily life or core supports is designed to help you live your best life, the way you want it, with as much independence as possible.
It can help you cover the cost of hiring someone to supervise or support you with any activities (including personal care) in your daily life. This doesn’t just mean you’ll be supported in your home. You could access support out in the community for social or work reasons, at school, TAFE, university, or any other activity you need assistance with.
Even something as simple as you just want some companionship and someone to help with your shopping or appointments so you’re not alone, we’ll be there!
Social and Community Participation/Access helps you to engage in the community socially and other activities related to your plan goals and objectives. You can receive this support in several different settings in the community. Some of Austral’s community activities include group nature exploration, arts and crafts, and social lunch gatherings.
Transport funding gives you access to disability supports outside your home and helps you pay for the transport that is helping you to achieve your goals. People who can’t use public transport due to their disability can receive this funding to help them go anywhere in the community.
Consumables are a support category available to assist participants with purchasing everyday use items. These may include assistive products for personal care or safety, assistive technology, interpreting and translation services, and assistance animals. Information on these pricing arrangements for this can be found in the Assistive Technology and Consumables Code Guide on the NDIS website.

The online community for support has fast become very popular given the ease of access that comes with it as well as quicker response times.
